Free Appraisal Trick, Free Appraisal Links, & Self Appraise Domain Names

Hey y'all. Sorry for the delay in updating my VERY interesting blog. :-)

I am currently working on many different projects relating to the domain industry so I don't always have time to update this ole' blog of mine. I know I keep posting how I want to start on a set schedule where each day I will cover a set topic and how I plan on soon listing almost expired or expired domain names. Before you start to get skeptical and think Mr. Domainer here is full of himself I plan on doing what I said I will do. I am just so caught up in so many different things I don't have any free time to write a good article or to keep to a set schedule. I just need a little more time to get experienced in the world of blogging and finish some other projects that I started. :)

Most normal people post in the day time but I guess I'm not your average everyday person so I will say that tonight I would like to share with you a couple of free links to free appraisal sites and to teach you a neat little trick. I can't remember if I figured out this trick myself or read it somewhere on the internet. Therefore I refuse to take any credit for this trick if it happens to be unearned.

Now let's get started.

I want you to visit this site:

https://www.certifiedofferservice.com/CertifiedOffer/offer/makeoffer.do?dom=myspacebritneyspears.com

Once on the site I want you to change (on your web browser where it shows the url) "myspacebritneyspears.com" and in it's place type in your domain name. If your domain name is www.wizardofsales.com (yes that's another website that I own, I'm being sneaky I'm advertising for myself, lol. By the way website is under construction so please click on where it says "Click for eBay Store") So if your domain name is "wizardofsales.com" Your link should now read https://www.certifiedofferservice.com/CertifiedOffer/offer/makeoffer.do?dom=wizardofsales.com

On the right side if you scroll down underneath that square box you will see where it says "Does THEWIZARDOFSALES.COM include the name of a product or service?" there is a drop down arrow. Choose the option that says "No or Don't Know." Choose that option and it will automatically take you to a new page and on there where show you your appraisal for your domain name. Apparently I have bad taste in domain names that I like because wizardofsales.com apparently is only worth between $410.00 - $720.00 USD, lol. (I chose this domain name for my website because it totally fits my enthusiastic personality - I have done sales all my life - now before you start thinking that I'm an old hag - I'm only 25 years young, lol - no insult to any old people I'm just making a corny joke)

The reason that I like this appraisal site (I'm not sure if this appraisal thing is supposed to be free or not so please someone let me know) is I find it to be quite accurate (once in a while, haha) (Just don't totally rely on these free appraisal sites - they are untrustworthy in my opinion)

For example try this. Now click back the back button to start over again and change the last part of the url and add the word "the" before "wizardofsales." Your url should now display this. https://www.certifiedofferservice.com/CertifiedOffer/offer/makeoffer.do?dom=thewizardofsales.com Follow the directions I previously posted and you should get this appraisal quote. Thewizardofsales.com $1,345.00 - $2,000.00

Let me begin by telling you that I have www.wizardofsales.com forwarded over to www.thewizardofsales.com. I have linked www.thewizardofsales.com to two websites and I have submitted the www.thewizardofsales.com to thousands of search engines and I have the domain name ranked with www.alexa.com So that is pretty much why thewizardofsales.com is appraised higher than wizardofsales.com. Normally a person would assume wizardofsales.com should be ranked higher because there are less characters and 3 words as opposed to four words but since I have taken all the trouble to advertise thewizardofsales instead of wizardofsales and because wizardofsales is forwarded over to thewizardofsales.com thewizardofsales.com is worth more. (Tip: If you have a domain name forwarded over to another domain name it usually hurts the ranking of the domain name that's being forwarded over in search rankings)

Now to be honest with you I'm not much of an optimist when it comes to appraisals whether free or not. My honest opinion is that a domain name is worth what people are willing to pay. I can have my domain name appraised to be worth a million dollars but if the most someone is willing to offer me is $10,000 then to me that's what my domain name is worth. Another reason why I'm not totally crazy about appraisals is because you can have your domain name appraised by 10 - 20 individuals or companies and each one will come back at you with a different appraisal amount. Everyone has their own methods or their own opinion what a domain name is worth. If it's killing you to get an overall idea of the max you can get for your domain name then either get several appraisals and then average it out or list your domain name at a high price and gradually decrease your price.

As far as appraisals go I kinda like that site (or should I say link) I just mentioned. Their appraisals are quite reasonable, they sound logical, and not a ridiculously crazy impossible amount. (well at least some times, not always, lol - still I wouldn't put my complete faith in these free appraisals or even a paid appraisal for that matter)

Either way here are some other free appraisal sites. (notice how each one will give you a different appraisal amount - before you start saying it's computer generated try asking different individuals opinion and see how each person comes back at a different amount - it' sorta like stocks each stockbroker will tell you to invest in a different stock - one person might think one stock is going up and another person will think that a different stock will make em the millions)

If you would like to learn how to self appraise your own domain names I found a GREAT article on the internet. Please click on this link or copy and past link into your web browser.

If you would like to learn another REALLY kool trick to discovering what people are willing to pay for your domain name(s) please check out a previous article I had written Tuesday, July 29, 2008. On the upper right hand corner of this blog you can search my blog. Type in "value of your domain name" and it will bring you to my previous post titled "Want An Idea For The Value Of Your Domain Name(s)." That's a neat little trick that I discovered by accident. I have posted all details on that post.

If you know of any additional free appraisal sites not mentioned in my post please feel free to mention them in the commentary section or you could email me to info@domainer.me

My Sincere Apology

Hi to all my new domainer fans.

I am sorry for not updating my new blog the past couple of days. I am actually working on some new articles and I am lQQking into some new ideas to make this blog the most exciting domain blog that exists out there on the web. :-)

I am open to any new suggestions or ideas. If you have any please email me to info@domainer.me or please write a comment in the commentary section.

One of the ideas I am trying to work on is to list a couple of FANTASTIC domain names that have either expired or just about to expire. If anyone out there has a website or has some special scripts on finding these AMAZING domain names please email me to info@domainer.me for more information. I am willing to work something out with you. :-)

Thank you all for understanding and I plan on updating this blog continuously starting in a couple of days from now.

P.S. I almost forgot. Thank you Dana for reminding me. Today is Monday. Please feel free to list any domain names that you have for sale in the commentary section along with a way for someone to contact you.

Up To 5 days To Cancel A Domain Name You Just Hand Registered

Did you know that you have 5 days to cancel and get refunded on a .com (not sure about other domain extensions as they may have their own policies) domain name you hand registered? (double check with your registrar beforehand, though ICAAN might be changing that policy in the near future)

Shhhhhh. Don't tell anyone that you found out about it from www.domainer.me It's a Domainer secret. :-D

UPDATE:

FM had posted this comment in the commentary section:

The new ICANN rule came into effect already on July 1st. According to the rule, your registrar is charged the ICANN fee (currently $0.20) for any domain, including those that are deleted in the 5 day "Add Grace Period" (AGP, first five days after registration).

Plus your registrar is under no obligation whatsoever to pass the ability to delete domains on to you, they are actually required to secure payment in advance though.

Hope this helps,
/FM

Thank you FM for notifying me. I called Go Daddy tonight and according to the person I spoke with, Go Daddy will still credit you back the 20cents ICANN fee. (Please don't hold me responsible so please just double check) The person at Go Daddy claimed that not every registrar will refund the fee but that they still do. I have just cancelled a domain name with Go Daddy and as soon as the refund shows up in my credit statement I will keep y'all posted if the refund including the ICAN fee did indeed show up.

Either way 20 cents is still a small price to pay for canceling a domain name you are not interested in keeping. Please remember that you only have 5 days to request a refund for a domain name because after that it's too late.

Go Daddy Promotional Codes

Good Morning y'all. It's time for another wonderful Tip of the Day with the "Domainer."

Today I'm just going to share with you a small tip as I'm currently working on a longer article that I'm going to share with you folks in a couple of days from now.

Let's discuss promotional discounts with Go Daddy today.

Ever order something on Go Daddy's website and you are taken to the checkout page and you notice it says "If you have a promo or source code enter it here?" You wish you had a coupon code even if it was to save $1.00 but unfortunately you don't. Well that is all about to change. :)

Listed here are a couple of links that will take you to other peoples websites with many Go Daddy coupon codes. Find the one that suites you best. (and of course a code that will actually work) For example did you know that entering the promo code "oyh3" will knock the price of a .com domain from $9.99 to $6.95? Yes it's 100% true.

If you know of a discount code(s) that is not listed on any of these links please feel free to post it in the commentary section. the good thing is if you have a link that you can post showing me where the Go Daddy codes are on your site I will add it to my post and hopefully it'll bring a bit more exposure to your website. Thank you!
